On the technical side, Jacopo Farina’s photography has a certain vérité bustle, although Proserpio and Domenico Nicoletti have a habit of cutting too frenetically, with the result that injudicious blinks can wipe out the names of numerous interviewees. A couple of people presume to speak on his behalf, but the `friends have told the BBC’ approach rings hollow. For all its flaws, however, this is a likeably bolshy, bold and reasonably balanced documentary that just needed to ask a few more awkward questions and linger a little longer on the answers.
